In the summer months many find the best activity is cooling off in the pool!

Both the bustling south beaches (40 minutes) and the quieter surfing beaches of the west (see photo below -50 minutes) are excellent day trips.

For the active there are many footpaths to discover in the surrounding hills and, when the sun is not too high, try out our mountain bikes.

Arrangements to taste and buy the local firewater, called Medronho, can be made at a local Quinta.

Horse riding is available nearby.
